09 October 2026, Baku: Central Bank Governor Taleh Kazimov spoke at the Istanbul Economic Forum in Türkiye, where he discussed the challenges facing monetary policymakers as global economic uncertainty and geopolitical risks increase.
Kazimov addressed a panel titled ‘Monetary Policy Amid Uncertainty’, outlining the potential impact of global economic developments and geopolitical risks on Azerbaijan’s economy and monetary policy.
He stressed the importance of maintaining price and broader macroeconomic stability, keeping inflation expectations anchored, responding flexibly to changing conditions and communicating clearly with the public and financial markets.
Kazimov said resilience and institutional credibility are particularly important in a volatile global environment. He also called for stronger dialogue among central banks, describing the Istanbul forum as an important venue for international exchange.
The two-day forum, organized by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, brought together central bank governors and other officials from various countries, as well as representatives of international financial institutions. Discussions at the forum focused on the global economic outlook, monetary policy, financial stability, the economic impact of artificial intelligence and challenges facing international trade.
