4 August 2026, Baku: The Central Bank's Management Board has adopted the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct in the Financial Sector.
The Code has been developed as part of the Financial Sector Development Strategy for 2024–2026 to promote professionalism and unify ethical behavior standards in the financial sector.
The Code establishes a unified framework of conduct for all professionals in the financial sector, providing a reliable reference for ethical principles. The document provides institutional support for supervised entities to improve existing internal codes and create new ones.
The document outlines eight ethical principles, six rules of professional conduct, and a mechanism to ensure their implementation. The Code establishes standards of conduct for professionals in relation to clients, the financial sector and institutions, other professionals, legislation, society, and the environment. It also reinforces the idea of multifaceted professional responsibility
This initiative aims to establish uniform ethical and professional standards of conduct within the financial sector. It seeks to foster a fertile and sustainable environment for professional development, ensure the sector's sustainable development and stability, and boost consumer confidence.
